Price Family Scholarship in Memory of Thomas M. Price
One
scholarship of $1,500 is available in 2012.
Application
deadline was 12 noon on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
This
scholarship was established by Sue Holder Price in
memory of her husband Thomas M. Price. As an involved
parent, Tom saw the importance of team sports in young
lives. His son Bill Price swam for the West Lafayette
White Sharks Swim Team for 10 years and for West
Lafayette High School for four years. Tom viewed
swimming as a character building sport believing in the
values of perseverance, hard work, self-discipline and
teamwork. Because of his son’s involvement and wanting
to maximize the opportunities available to local
talented swimmers, Tom along with other passionate
supporters established Boilermaker Aquatics. This newly
formed swim club, affiliated with Purdue University,
unified the local clubs into one team as well as
attracted a strong coaching staff. Boilermaker Aquatics
has and continues to produce outstanding swimmers at the
high school, collegiate and national level. Tom worked
tirelessly, and he generously gave his time and talent
to accomplish the formation of Boilermaker Aquatics. The
family of Thomas M. Price has chosen to honor his memory
