A
continuing education series designed to improve the
effectiveness of nonprofit organizations by
strengthening boards of directors has been developed by
The Community Foundation and is being jointly sponsored by NCHS,
United Way of Greater Lafayette, Ivy Tech Corporate
College, and The Community Foundation of Greater
Lafayette. This series is especially
designed for the volunteer leaders on the Boards of Not-For-Profit Corporations.
The purpose of this program is to strengthen and sustain
Not-For-Profit Boards by building knowledge about
responsible oversight and governance, and effective
responses to policy and management issues faced by
today’s Not-For-Profit volunteer leaders. The continuing education series is designed for, and
limited to, Board volunteers and Executive Directors.
Leading regional and national instructors, with
expertise in topics relating to board governance and
leadership, will present information essential to
guiding and sustaining Not-For-Profits. A networking
reception with refreshments will conclude each session.
Apply as soon as possible to be
considered for the 2012 education series. A limited number of seats will be
available. Priority will be given to not-for-profit
organizations with a Board member/Executive Director
team from Tippecanoe and the contiguous counties.
Priority will be also be given to those who apply for
the entire Series. Past attendees may request to attend specific sessions, and will be given
priority over those who have never attended.
