Since 1970, area residents have been turning to The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible. We are a public charity serving thousands of people who share a common concern -- improving the quality of life in the Greater Lafayette area.Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help our region meet the challenges of changing times. We then use the distributions to award grants each year to many of the humanitarian, educational, and cultural organizations in this remarkable region we call home.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette is to inspire, nurture, and practice philanthropy, stewardship, and leadership in the communities we serve.


Our assets are monitored by the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. Please contact us if you would like additional information regarding our investment manager or fees charged.

Copies of the foundation's IRS Form 990 and/or IRS Form 990 T (if submitted) and audited financial statements, prepared by Huth Thompson LLP, are available at our office through electronic media and via paper.

National Standards

Community Foundation National Standards Compliant

The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette complies with the National Standards established by the Community Foundations National Standards Board, a supporting organization of the Council on Foundations.

What are the National Standards?
National Standards is an accreditation program that promotes operational effectiveness to foster excellence in community philanthropy. Hundreds of community foundations proudly display the official National Standards seal that signifies their compliance and distinguishes them as a smart investment for philanthropists. Intended as a blueprint for internal organizational development and as a tangible set of benchmarks for external assessment of performance, the 41 National Standards address six key areas of community foundation operations:
