Introduction
Be sure to read all information
in this website before proceeding with a grant proposal.
The following is intended as
an overview of our grant-making process. Please read all
information carefully. For more details, please see
instructions for grant proposals. Don’t hesitate to contact
program staff if you have any questions.
Process
1. Prepare and
submit a Grant Proposal
Use the
form provided (see below) to prepare and submit a Grant
Proposal for Discretionary and Field of Interest grants. Information requested includes background and
contact information for the organization, a concise
narrative about the project, amount requested from the
foundation, and a project budget. Also included is a board
list, project estimates/bids, and some financial
statements. Your organization may be asked for further
information or even a site visit to help clarify the
request.
2.
Review of application.
Only completed applications
received by the deadline will be forwarded to the grants
committee. Site visits are arranged when needed to clarify
understanding of the proposed project and the
organization.
3.
Approval and final notification
All grants are approved by The Community Foundation's
Board of Directors. All applicants receive written
notification. Those awarded grants must sign a grant

Application
A complete grant packet can
be requested from the foundation as a hard copy or via
e-mail. Complete instructions available in PDF format via
the website.
Please
read the following carefully before accessing the on-line
application.
To access the on-line
application, you’ll need a recent version (4.0 or higher) of
Acrobat Reader (available as a free download
here). The
file may take several minutes to download; if it doesn’t
work, make sure you have a recent version of Acrobat Reader.
If you still can’t download the application you may need to
use a different computer or request a hard copy from the
foundation.
Once you open the file, you
can print it and fill it out manually, or you may fill out
the forms on your computer. In either case please read all
instructions carefully before completing the application.
To fill out the forms on your
computer, open the file, go to the form page, select the
hand tool, position the pointer in the field you wish to
fill in, and begin typing. You can navigate from field to
field using the tab key or by repositioning the cursor.
All fields have restrictions
on the amount of text that may be entered.
The form cannot be saved and
completed at another time;
if you try to save, you will lose all information you’ve
already filled in. For this reason you may want to print out
a blank copy to use as a draft and fill out the application
using a computer when your draft is complete.
Once you’ve completed typing
the application, print it out on white letter-size paper.
The application cannot be submitted electronically.
Don’t forget the signatures
on the application after you’ve printed it out.
If you have any questions,
